The Owls Nook is a cosy 4 sleeper chalet on the banks of Khayalami Bay, Albert Falls dam, just 30 minutes from Pietermaritzburg.
The accommodation consists of a large bedroom with a king size bed, with en-suite bathroom and toilet. There is a large open plan verandah, with a dining table, a sleeper couch which rolls out to 2 single beds. The kitchen has a gas stove, with a gas freezer. The lights run off solar power, and there is no electricity, so you won't have any power cuts. There is an indoor fireplace and braai area. There is an outdoor shower and loo with views across the bay.

You also have a convenient indoor and outdoor braai area, and a bonfire area to keep you warm on cool nights.
The Owls Nook is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Enjoy the peace and solitude of the water and bird life on your doorstep. We have a collection of different canoes, kayaks and paddle ski's for the guests to use.
Guests must bring their own ice, charcoal and towels.
Activities
Albert Falls is regarded as one of South Africas premiere fishing destinations for bass, carp, barbel and tilapia. The bay in front of the cottage is a bird conservancy, and you will see a wide range of birds, ranging from the small exquisitely coloured Malachite Kingfisher, through to the majestic African Fish Eagle with its unmistakable call.
This venue will provide the perfect venue for a couple who enjoy nature, and just chilling. The Owls Nook is secluded, peaceful and quiet. The views are breathtaking, and there are safe walks around the dam, or cycle routes.
